My surgery went very well!
Only two excisions were needed.
The cancer had gone quite deep and some
precancerous cells were also found.
My scar is about an inch long.
But the doctor was able to sew me up, which isn't always the case.
So I was happy.
There was some swelling for the first several days, but
icing every hour really helped.
I still cannot exercise or do any lifting until next week.
I am having the stitches removed on Tuesday.
And we will talk about when to begin
treatment for the precancerous cells.
Which will include chemotherapy cream.
All in all, I am happy with the results of the surgery!
Now if only people would stop staring at me in public.
One guy even asked me what happened while I was with my husband.
He looked at me with a "likely story" look on his face.
I get so many stares! What do they think happened, I wonder?
Thanks, Nicola for your concern!!
Cancer posts always scare me so I am really glad to know your surgery went well. Please keep us posted. As for people that ask, maybe it is a good time to educate people about skin cancer. ??
ReplyDeleteSending love your way!
Yeah! I am glad it all went well, and that you have a treatment plan in place!
ReplyDeletei'm so glad you've got it all taken care of and are on the mend! time to think up a good story to tell the nosy strangers.
ReplyDeleteGlad the surgery went well. Positive thoughts for the next steps with the precancerous cells. I am sure that will go well too. :) Take care.

People are so rude. I don't know why they stare at others just because those people are fat, super skinny, pregnant, dressed a certain way, tattooed, pierced, or wearing something medically related, like those huge sunglasses they give people after certain eye surgeries, or - oh no! - a bandage. *shakes head*
For what it's worth, I wouldn't stare or wonder or butt my nose into your (or anyone's) personal business.
