We have a busy week ahead. Goose is taking a class at the local Repetory Theatre. There is some improv and performing of their own written works. The class will also create and perform their own play! I can't wait to see it! Both kids begin their weekly classes on Wednesday. Binky is taking a writing class and sports in the afternoon. Goose is taking poetry in the morning and probability and statistics in the afternoon. They are very excited! I am looking forward to going for walks with some other moms while the kids are in classes.

Feline Study

Binky said he wanted to study all the different cats this year. So, we've been reading about the big cats, like lions and tigers. And he is coloring a map of where each cat lives. We've also been reading a lot of fiction with cat characters. Puss 'n Boots is a favorite so far! Binky has been reading the "Mr. Putter and Tabby" series by himself and really enjoys it. Tonight we are starting the Magic Tree House book, "Tigers at Twilight." I read Henri Rousseau's Jungle Book, which is great! We talked about the way Rousseau painted jungle scenes with big cats and repeated the same plants over and over in one painting. Binky chose his favorite Rousseau painting, which he will sketch and then paint on a canvas! We will also be taking some field trips to the local zoos to observe and sketch as many cats as we can. This has been a really fun lesson so far! Binky is a real animal lover!

i'm baaaaaack!

I've missed you, blog world! I took a break and now I am feeling refreshed and ready to face the world! Spending four days in Big Sur certainly helped! It really was a beautiful weekend! Warm and full of fun for the kids! We are even talking about camping again before the weather cools down. I hope you had a lovely weekend and I can't wait to catch up on everything you have been doing!!!!
