Last week was a rough one.
At one point I told my husband that I didn't want to think about it anymore!
I want to turn it off!
To make a long story short my niece ran away last week.
She is home safe now,  but during those loooooong hours of not knowing where she was or who she was with it was a living hell!
It's not easy coming down from such horrifying emotions and thoughts.
So... I needed to escape.

I grabbed Goose and we headed to the Garden!
It was a cold, beautiful day.
The rain had filled the creeks with rushing water all through the garden.
It was as if all this water was washing away my worries.

There were signs of new beginnings everywhere!

Throughout our walk, Goose was telling me about a story
she is working on with some of her friends.  It's called, "The Pirate King's Revenge!"
It's quite a story!
As soon as we got home she sat down and started writing.
I know she and Binky were very worried about their cousin.

This is my favorite shot of the day.
You know how I love ferns!

This was the view as we drove down the hill back to reality.
Just beautiful.
One hour in the Garden and I am at peace.
Thank you Garden!!!

  1. Oh Lisa, I am so sorry that you and your family went through that. I am glad your niece is safe at home now. You'll have to share with me where that healing, beautiful place is. What a beautiful place to find peace

  2. Lisa,
So glad to know that your niece is safe. Wishing her especially and all the family peace and healing after such a difficult time. You chose a truly special place to escape to. It is so good to know that Nature and all it's wisdom is always there for us to help us find our way in all manner of situations.
    Blessings to you all.

  3. Im so glad to hear that your neice came home safe and sound. To not know where a child is, to not know if they are safe...its a parents worst nightmare.

Your garden is beautiful, perfect to escape in.Sometimes you do need that, to be able to leave troubles behing, if only for a while.

Hopefully it will be the last time your niece does this, and that she has worked her mind out a little.

    Hugs

  4. I'm so glad she's back home safely. This must of been just terrible for everyone! I don't think teens understand how many people they can effect with their actions sometimes. Maybe Goose and Binky will take away something good from it... like a lesson of life.

Your trip to the garden was such a good idea. Nature has a way of calming a person's soul.
Noah and I always get out in nature when things are tough and when they are not:)

Your photos are just incredible! I love to see the blossoms, gives me some hope of Spring. We just got 12 inches of snow...sigh.

  6. Oh my goodness! You know, somehow I lost you in my move to my new blog. This morning I was thinking, "Why haven't I *seen* Lisa?"

And now, to read this...oh, I'm so sorry. I can't imagine how scary it must've all been.

    I'm glad G & B's cousin is home again. :)

  7. Oh, I am sorry! How scary. I am glad she is safe, but I am sure a little fear lives on.
I am glad you found solace outside and you have made me hug my children even tighter today.
    Warmly, Nicola
