Dishwashers

One of Goose's chores is to load and unload the dishwasher. It is not one of her favorites! After taking out the garbage and recycling, Binky asked if he could help her. So Goose whipped out the aprons and away they went! They even hand washed the pots and pans! I had to sneak in a photo. I mean, how often will they be so excited about doing the dishes? How are the chores divided up in your house?

  1. I feel for Goose. I think unloading the dishwasher is my least favorite chore. My husband laughs at me because I will wash and dry dishes all day to avoid unloading the dishwasher. Something about those squeaky clean dishes I just don't like. Now give me some nice warm laundry to fold and I'm in heaven(although you can't get me to put them away). I need therapy!:)

  2. That's so sweet, the two of them working together like that. My daughter is in charge of cleaning the cat box and taking out the garbage each morning..she doesn't particularly like those jobs. My son feeds the cats and cleans the glass on the french doors.

Thanks for your comment on my blog. It's fun to see who is reading and to go off visiting anew!

  4. Hi Lisa! Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog!

I love discovering new blogs :)

This is a great photo! My bugs are only 3 and 5 but the littlest is already on "cutlery" - his job is to put the silverware away (out of the dishwasher). My big boy has to feed the dog & has started to help with choosing something of his choice to do from the dishwasher - he usually just chooses bowls only or just mugs so it's a low pressure intro to the job! I have also hit on some luck this week with the morning call of "who wants to get the vacuum?" Apparently they both think that's a fun job so we're getting a little extra love there too! I know that won't last too long so I'm enjoying it while it does :)

p.s. I totally agree with Jane - it's the putting away of folded, clean laundry that is the worst job!!

  5. I totally agree with Goose - unloading the dishwasher STINKS! maybe it's all the bending and stooping?

So sweet to see siblings working together...my girls love to help fold laundry, but somehow, it all ends up unfolded by the time it's in their drawers...hmmm...

  6. Binky has been helping Goose with the dishes more and more. The floor gets all wet and I can't always find things, but at least it is getting done! I can never understand why Goose's clothes are all wrinkled the day after I folded them and asked her to put them away! It's funny how some days the kids are pysched to help out around the house and others, like when guests are coming over, I can't get them to do anything without whining. Thanks for all the comments!! I love hearing about other families lives!
